I may have to change his name 2 months ago

from Charlie to Romeo. It seems he is QUITE the ladies man. (Even though he is “altered”.) He has apparently decided to adopt me – sleeps at night on the hood of my car – and has lately decided to bring his girlfriends back to his bachelor pad. I’ll hear some kind of unearthly caterwauling from outside – dash outside quickly – and there he will be, in the side garden, with one of his three neighborhood girlfriends. Society girls all, plump with jeweled collars and brushed fur. I don’t care what the vet says about his heart, if he’s getting that much activity, he’s gotta be pretty healthy.

Plus, it’s pretty fun to go out into the yard with his dinner in a bowl, calling, “Romeo! Romeo! Wherefore art thou, Romeo?”

Pointless, But Fun 2 months ago

I was 18 and working in a department store. Well, early in the morning, we’d open our stations for the day and then get bored, waiting for the store to open. There were a lot of young people and that was one of the ways we amused ourselves … we’d have escalator races up and down. Definitely go up the down escalator and down the up escalator at least once in your life. And try to come in through the out door and out through the in door.

Problems 2 months ago

Mr. Muggsy has suddenly gone almost completely blind. He has cataracts, but he was seeing somewhat. We thought he might have glaucoma, but then the vet ruled that out. Have appointments scheduled Friday to see if it is the cataracts or glaucoma, and if it is cataracts, would he be a good candidate for surgery at his age/health. I feel so sorry for him because he is also pretty deaf as well. I try to give him extra petting, cuddling, tickles, to try to make up for the loss of his other senses. He is just walking around bumping into walls. Also he is suddenly peeing a lot, NOT in his designated pee places – I wonder if he is trying to mark some spots so he can find his way around. Well, I can always get another carpet, but I can’t get another Muggsy. This is all just so sudden and so sad.
