The Goal: Outline my novel its entirely and in detail – every single scene – between now and October 31st so that on November 1st, I can just sit down and start writing, and participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).
The Plan: Follow the plan in the book, “First Draft in 30 Days.” (Will take me 60+ days probably, since I’m a busy single mom.) Finish the outline, then set it aside for a month or two while I do some more thinking and brainstorming. Finally, take the outline back out and revise with any new notes. Lather, rinse, repeat between now and October 31st until I am happy with my outline. Spend the whole month of November writing like mad, and carry over into December with any unfinished work.
Endgame: Hopefully have a good stab at a novel by the end of this year.
I gave up sufing for Lent. It was liberating. I never knew I had so much free time. Now if I can keep from diving right back in… :-)
