Hey guys and gals, I’m back.
The good news is things have got a lot better, I no longer pick my skin on a regular basis, on some occasions yes I do still pick, however this is when I actually have spots and even then I only pick the spot itself. I would tell you how I acomplished this, but the thing is, I’m not really sure. I think blogging helped me a lot, even though I stoped and started having a realization of the problem itself and accepting my illness as a picker helped alot, what we are basically doing guys is Cognative behaviour therapy, but we are doing it ourselves and not forking about pound after pound. I think the more i wrote the more i became aware of my actions, I no longer felt ashameed of what I was doing, I knew there were people out there just like me, dealing with the same things as me. You may not feel like blogging helps you but is a sub-conscious thing, the effects will be seen trust me, just try not to think about your progress too much, easier said than done.
I think moving away from home helped me a lot too. I went to University and the constant being around people helped a lot too, At home I was always so self aware of what people thought of me, I had to have a full face of makeup etc to cover my skin, the more I was at home the more aware I became of my condition, Having mates knock on my door att 6am in the morning for a chat, or knocking at my door whenever aloud me to show them the me without makeup, and to be honest they thought nothing of it, people at uni have worse skin than me, and they get on and do stuff, it was the isolation of being at home that made my condition worse. I also have a lovely boyfriend who I let me see without makup and he says I’m beautiful, and yunno something I believe him. I’m at home now for a break and I find myself looking at my skin more.
I also made steps to help myself. I still get spots but not so much. These are my steps, but I erge you to concentrate on geting tot he phsycological reasons before.
- I went on the pill. The pill I am on is called Mynocronom, it seems to have made my skin clearer, especially on my forehaead, however i do feel quiet sick on it so may have to change.
- I drink 2 l of water a day
- I clense tone a moisturise witth a non harsh kit, the one I use is the Boots own brand, is the purple range, a scrub, a clenser and a moisturizer, really good stuff.
- I use bare minerals foundation, and clean my brushes regualy.
- As for diet i eat the same stuff.
Good luck.
