I’m currently trying to plough my way through a book on Polish history (politics really). I borrowed this book from the library a YEAR ago – because at the time I was in deeply love with a guy who is half polish, and passionate about recording the wartime history of the polish people before it is lost forever. I wanted to understand it all, so that I could understand him better! Well, he’s gone from my life now but the book remains!! And I WILL finish it because I did really love him.

I’ve asked my friend to come to Paris with me in April. I want to go there for my birthday and, as both our birthdays are in the same week, I think it would be fun to go there together and have a double celebration. Double gateaux too! I’m not sure I can persuade him to come with me – he’s been to Paris before & is of the “been there, done that, why do I want to go again?” type. But I have made up my mind that I WILL go to Paris, even if I have to go alone, without him.
