Day Two: Morning Shocker 11 months ago

Woke up, weighed myself – 156 pounds. That’s five pounds in one night. I’m pretty sure that’s got to be water weight or something, but that’s still quite a startling amount. Especially since I weighed myself before I went to bed, and I was still at 161. And I haven’t even done my salt water flush yet.

Later: The salt water flush this morning made me really nauseous. I had to sit still for about ten minutes thinking about how I was not going to throw up. I tried it according to someone’s suggestion of taking several tablespoons of salt mixed with a very small amount of water, tossing it back like a shot and then drinking 32 ounces of water very quickly. It was more effective than yesterday’s, but the nausea was really uncomfortable.

Still later: I have just had my first experience with the butt pee. It’s pretty gross, and an incredibly weird sensation. It’s strange to clench muscles as though you were going to have a bowel movement and have nothing but liquid come out.

Later even still: I’m starting to think about eating Mexican food. Seriously. I want to go to Efrain’s and have refried beans.

Learn to read tarot
I read every morning. 11 months ago

After I make the bed, I just lay out a basic Cross spread. I use a book to refer to all of the cards I draw, trying to learn that way.

Plaque 11 months ago

I just found out that the average person on the American diet has anywhere from five to twenty-five pounds of intestinal plaque built up. Ew. Ew. Ew.

On the plus side, maybe I’ll drop weight that’s not water weight. Just plaque weight. EW.

After a little more research, I’ve discovered two things. One is that the medical community by and large says there’s no such thing as intestinal plaque. Which, looking at some of the highly-priced colonic systems out there, makes sense. Looks like a scam to me.

On the other hand, there are lots of people on this site who have done the Master Cleanse for up to twenty days and still had solid bowel movements. That implies to me that while there may be no such thing as intestinal plaque, there’s still a lot of junk up in your colon that needs to go away.

Anyone have medical/personal opinions on the plaque issue?
