I had a big stack of these in a bag tucked into the corner of my room and found them the other day. Hopefully, I will never, ever need them again! They served a purpose for our wedding, but now I have no use for them. And luckily…I know 3 women who are planning weddings – so I split up the loot and shared!

How I did it: Lots of company, laffy taffy, homemade soup, and multiple word wars every hour.On the one hand, it was exhilarating and awesome, on the other hand I wished for sleep, battled with weary fingers, and left me bereft of some of the better dialog in my book. I think it was only worth doing once. I proved to myself I can do it, but also proved that it shouldn't be done lol :D Not 12k, at any rate. Read how I did it…
How I did it: We met online through Star Wars Galaxies, an online roleplaying game, and friends on both sides who decided to get us together and see what happened. Two painfully shy folks with "baggage" met in Tennessee in 2004, gathered up our courage to continue to see one another and give love a chance, and it just...fit. I'm not sure when we "officially" decided that this was it for both of us, but it felt terrific, we had similar inter… Read how I did it…
My freezer is a black hole. I peered in it this morning and got THE LOOK from the hubby. The ensuing conversation went something like this:
DH (Dear Hubby): Why do you want to know what’s in there?
ME: I would like to know what ingredients I can use so I can find a recipe for cooking.
DH: When are you cooking it?
ME: Someday.
DH: Looking for recipes implies that you’re cooking it this week.
ME: So “someday” implies “this weekend”?
followed by:
DH: These here are seasoned potatoes.
ME: That looks like chunks of seasoned chicken to me.
DH: They’re just dried out a bit.
ME: Really? Because it says “raw meat” on the outside of the bag.
DH: That’s odd.
ME: Cool! Transmutation!
The bag indeed contained chicken. Chicken that’s been there since…last June. It was supposed to be prepped for use on kabobs on the grill. Apparently they transmute into potatoes when they’ve been in the freezer for a bit?
We spent no less than 3 hours prodding and poking at the first 14 pages of my manuscript, shredding it to pieces – but darn it – I had fun! It needed it…I have tried to validate some elements of unbelievability in my head but figured out tonight what they were lacking – motivation! I grabbed onto motivation in NaNo 2008, but when I went back to 2007’s document I didn’t bother to revise the motivation in there for some of the characters. So now…I can take another look and improve A LOT.
