At work I am a very organized person…everything is either labeled, filed or color coded. All easily accessible or at least in some place that I know where to look. It is a different story at home. Notes are written on pieces of paper, on back of envelopes even on napkins. Then they are tossed into a drawer…somewhere…in the house. Why I do that is beyond me? There are a number of web sites that I have created a profile on. Music and video, photo, groups, blogs…you name it I am on it…sometimes I even forget about a page I have created until I receive an email reminding me that I need to sign in before I get shut out. Or I remember about a site when I find a note with my sign-in name and password written on it. I know that I am not the only one who forgets about a site, if I were then there would be no such thing as an automated email reminder, right? Beside that, I have been told by several people that they also have done the same thing. I figure that if I get a spiral notebook (maybe one with subject dividers already in it), and organize all my sites with my screen name and password I won’t forget what sites I have. Maybe even set it up where I can write the dates I visited and make a note of any updates I may have done. Now that is what you call being organized! Scary, huh?

My granddaughter is 18 and graduated from high school this year. She (and her younger brother and sister) have been living with me for the past 12 years. I began collecting and saving all kinds of things when they first moved in with me. I have saved report cards, pictures, school projects, awards, things from birthdays, from their proms and so much more in order to create a scrapbook for each. scrapbook My intention was to give each grandchild a Memory Scrapbook when the graduated from high school. I started scrapbooking several years ago, beginning with an ancestry scrapbook for my parents. Collecting information and creating the scrapbook was a long process. Due to the era my parents were raised in they had little knowledge of their ancestors. In their era record keeping was not very accurate and sometimes non-existent. But, my efforts paid off and not only did I learn a lot about my ancestors the scrapbook I created turned out beautifully. My parents were so happy with their surprise gift, which in turn made me very happy. That was a couple of years ago. My parents passed away a couple of years ago, not long after I presented the scrapbook to them. I haven’t felt very creative since then. It has been very difficult for me to become motivated enough to even begin organizing everything needed for the grand kids scrapbooks. I have tons of things, saved here, there and everywhere. I have even gathered items needed for my granddaughters scrapbook, which are now in boxes in my bedroom. But, when I think I can actually start on it, it is as if all my creative energy is sucked out of me, I just stare at everything wondering what to do next. So…my goal is to get my creative juices flowing again and complete what I once promised to do more than 10 years ago…beginning today!
