Just before we left for Kentucky, my grandma gave me some money that she prohibited I spend on anything but clothing. I don’t really need any new clothes… except new bras.
But it’s SO hard to find cute bras. (When home, I prefer the boobies free range, but, alas, I can’t stay home all the time.) It seems that the cute ones only go up to a small D size. And finding nursing bras that are cute and in my size? Forget it!
As well, I knew I needed new bras, but I didn’t know I’d gone up an entire cup size since Shawn was born! Seriously, I was in denial for a few days after I sized myself. (And seeing how I went up a cup size after Gabriel was born, I’m somewhat concerned if this will be a continuing pattern with future babies.)
However, I persevered, and I now have seven very adorable (non-nursing) bras. And they aren’t all white, either! I have two reds with black lace, two blacks – one pure black and one which has pink ribbon detail – one purple (PURPLE!!!! a purple bra! I got lucky!), a ‘nude’ colored one, and a white one with blue trim. Tommy’s brother’s girlfriend brought her laundry over today and I was throwing it in the dryer for her. That little spike of jealousy flared up when I saw her cute patterned bras being transfered from washer to the dryer. Rainbows and hearts and all sorts of other cutesie stuff! ::sigh:: I’ll just never be able to find affordable bras or afford the ones I can find that look like hers, but regardless, I’m so happy to have the ones I do that I’m almost giddy.
Mostly unrelated story, but so funny I have to share, my friend in KY attends games at the park and she was telling me that to run, she taped her boobs. I insisted she share her secret for doing this after she told me how much it helped – I LOVE to run but… it’s become difficult, to say the least, now. And sports bras SUCK. She told me she wrapped packing tape around her bra! Brilliant.
