The violin just arrived. It’s very basic (um…flimsy?), but I can get some okay sounds out of it. I’m viewing this one as a starter violin, but I would like to eventually upgrade. What did I expect for $150:D. Certainly not balsa wood…

So, while tuning, I broke two strings before it went in tune, which didn’t surprise me, because the strings looked sort of cheesy. Still, I was able to mess around on two strings – in tune! I’m having fun with it – when I have all four strings it should be even more fun:)

I still have my iMac Graphite from 2000, and it is really wonderful. I replaced my hard drive and internal disc drive myself too (it’s not as hard as you might think – just sixteen screws!), and now I will finally upgrade to OSX. Yeah, I’m still running the classic – it’s getting frustrating, but the classic is about seven years old or so, and time marches on. Even with the old tech it’s not so bad – it would be great if it were still supported:)

I found a violin! It should arrive next week:D It’s a French Chanot copy from eBay…hope I didn’t screw up, but if it turns out I did, I didn’t pay much. The picture is fetching – it’s pretty unusual looking – no corners.
