My mum is a lady that just won’t quit. It’s been only a few short weeks and she has come out of the coma, and is functioning well enough to be angry at the nurses at times, grumpy with family, and smart enough that she waited until the nurse was gone before she used her teeth to pull her hands out of the restraints and pulled her feeding tube out.
She’s still only talking a few short words at a time, and half of what she says definitely doesn’t make any sense, but she is making exciting progress, and may only be in the hospital for another month or two before going into a nursing home.
The part that’s hard now is the financial aspect. My mums was homeless, and so I’m dealing with DSHS, with insurance from the driver and all kinds of stuff. So I guess I’m still working on this one.
