How I did it: I mostly followed Dr. Richard K. Bernstein's advice. I am not disciplined enough to do it perfectly, but some is better than nothing. I got my A1c in the mid-5's without a lot of hypos and that's all I can do, I think, without becoming a robot. Get the book, Diabetes Solution. Join the online forum, where there are fantastic people and recipes to get you through. It's the only way, currently. Read how I did it…
I’ve done NONE of this. For ages I have made no progress on these things. We’ve taken a couple of trips and had a few colds, but really, I have to finish something sometime! Since Baby won’t let me concentrate on my goals whatsoever, I absolutely must enlist DH’s help. SOON!
I am so sick of being kicked in the stomach all night, every night. I feel I was subverted in my desire to do this from the start, when I ended up with a C-section but was still determined to breastfeed. There is just no way to get up out of bed over and over after a cesarean, so I was forced to sleep with the baby in the bed. No co-sleeper, either, since my bedroom has built-in furniture that interfered with that idea.
