How I did it: There are two choices in life. Unconditional love or fear. All other events or emotions are repercussions of these two choices. ~ R. Conger, my very dear friend… I choose to refuse fear a place in my life or my mind. I choose unconditional love as the only way to live and relate to others. I choose to continue to seek inner peace and contentment, and to forevermore value the importance of and maintain a positive, uplifting, attitude. I ch… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My daughter and I did a 2 1/2 week road trip, from Southern California up to Pemberton British Columbia, Canada and back, last summer (2008) for the Pemberton Music festival. On our way home we took the coastal route, winding down the beautiful hwy. 101. I was born and raised in California…. I live on the San Andreas Fault Zone. I’ve been through quite a few of ‘um….
While driving down the main road of our village, when I was returning home one evening, there walking the opposite way of traffic was a shirtless man. A shirtless man with major blood streaming from his head down the entire length of his back and torso. It was so obvious that this man was in serious trouble, it dumbfounded me that no one stopped to help him.
So I did a quick U-turn and pulled up to him and asked if he needed help, which was a dumb thing to ask because, of course the answer was, A BIG YES!!!, he needed help. He asked me to take him a ways up the road to where his friends were and I helped him into the car and drove him there. The place he wanted to go happened to be across the street from the fire station, where I found him the help he needed.
He had been walking away from his girlfriend after arguing with her when she took out a handgun and shot him in the back of the head. He ended up undergoing surgery, went into a coma for almost a year, was paralyzed and endured much rehabilitation thereafter. He has never been the same again. She walked after serving a year in jail!
