To date… from what I can recall of my school day french, I can say:
Bonjour – Hello
Salut – Hi
Common t’allez-vous? – How are you?
Tres bien – Very good
That’s about the full extent of my memory. French is a very musical languag, and one of many I will now vow to learn, hopefully I will make it onto a college course this Autumn term and we’ll kick off from there! :)
Well just as the title says, I’m a very friendly and happy sociable person though in meeting new people I get very shy to start off with, I hate this goal so much but I feel so lonely here in this place. I’ve got to get out there and make some friends, question is am I brave enough or will I let my stupid head get in my way?? Fingers crossed…
I’ve sent an email to my local college (Glan Hafren). To find out if there are any spaces available in their evening GCSE class, this I figure I could go to after work, and again it’d be a good opportunity to make new friends.
French isn’t particularly a needed thing for me to learn, but then france is practically our neighbour here so why not? I could go and serenade France from the top of the eiffel tower next year! Haha!
I sent a few emails yesterday to enquire about a couple of different evening/weekend volunteer jobs advertised. Most were working with young people or at local clinics/hospital. Hopefully I’ll get something back from this soon anyway but I suppose they will get a lot of applications?? Hmm.
Well I’ve started on this one already, my local theatre is running a free drama group for under 25s, so I sent an email to put my name down, (only 16 people were allowed) and today I got the email back to confirm my place!
This will be very scary for me as I’m quite a shy person but hopefully I can drum up the courage and just go for it, you only live once right?
I hope I can make some new fun friends here, best place to go to find some confident people I think1 : )
