I have a fair bit of poetry that I wrote from the age of 13 to 17, and I’ve kept them all together in folders since I wrote them.
I want to publish them on the internet for two reasons:
- Firstly, I want to cleanse myself of those thoughts. I am no longer that person, and after they are published I will rip them up and recycle the paper. This will help me to let go, and look more to my future. :)
- And secondly, rather than just ripping them up as if they never existed, I want them to be read by others. I may have no use for them any more (I have read them many times, which has helped me understand myself better and mature into who I am presently), but perhaps they will help or inspire others.
I have already begun, and I am up to poetry written when I was 16.
And I’ve been ripping them up in sections, as I post them.
It’s a really good feeling. :)

I love fresh food, seafood, simple food, and interesting combinations of flavour.
We have just started a vegetable patch last year, but it does not yield a great variety at this early stage. I get almost all my fresh produce from Farmer’s Markets, and love learning to make dressings and sauces from scratch as much as is possible.
I have someone close by as a great mentor, who is creative with food. And I like to watch Jamie at Home, and find interesting recipes on the internet.
Some things I have learnt to make that I enjoy:
-Blackberry and ricotta tart
-Wild rice salad with cranberries
-Basic salad dressing, that can be creatively modified
-Cold berry soup
Some things that I intend on learning to make:
-Pumpkin pie, with my friend’s recipe which I hope to score :]
-Tomato sauce which my mentioned mentor will teach me when our
garden tomatoes mature
-Juice from the berries that I’m trying to grow

I am planning a visit to Scotland which is only 3 months away now. I haven’t finalised many details yet, but I want this more than any of my other short-term goals. I will be spending most of my time with conservation work in the Caledonian Forest, and some time afterwards visiting a dear friend in another country, if all goes to plan.
This will be a great opportunity for me to accomplish a lot of little goals along the way too, such as:
*Travelling to another country
*Travelling (for the most part) on my own
*Visiting my dear friend for the first time in real life
*Attending a particular festival I’ve always wanted to
*Broadening my photography style
*And (it would be nice) to join a Dancing group for my time there. I’m a Scottish Country Dance group member where I live, and it would be nice to experience that in its homeland. :]
