How I did it: I've read about people donating their old glasses to charity in the paper and magazines but never saw where I could do it.  I kept an eye out - pardon the pun - in my local opticians for a box but there was nothing and it's always so busy that I never asked.At the weekend, I looked up for a postal address online for Vision Aid Overseas.  Their website said that many opticians have a box and to ask.  I've just walked into to… Read how I did it…

Furthest so far... 1 week ago

I visited Aberdeen for the first time today. I was up at the crack of dawn for the 05:45 train. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a view for a while as it was still dark but I got so excited when it was light and I saw the sea!

I’ve been trying to work out if Aberdeen was further north than Inverness and from the map it looks like Inverness is the winner. Having celebrated my birthday there last year, that is the furthest I’ve been so far.

Part two 3 weeks ago

I’m getting round to painting another section of my bay window. So far today, I’ve taken off the old blind, cleaned the window, washed and painted the wood.

Now I’m waiting until tomorrow for it to be dry and then will put up the new blind. I reckon that’s me halfway there :)

Getting into good habits 4 weeks ago

I’ve rediscovered my good intentions from earlier in the year and have now had all my ironing done ready for the new week for the last 4 Sundays.

I think I’ll need to keep it up for a tad longer – maybe two months of Sundays – until I can tick it off the list.
