Today i feel glad that our garage sale was a success! My friend who needed cash earned quite a bit and I didn’t do so bad either. Bought aromatherapy (the body shop dry olive oil spray which I’ve been wanting for over 2 years finally went on sale – 40% off!) and a phone charger with my earnings.
I’m thankful for a restful Saturday because I was feeling under the weather yesterday and just generally in bad shape. My brother has a fever too :(
Am thankful my brother (yup, the same one – the only one for that matter) treated me to a movie last wed. I enjoyed District 9! It was ridiculous, funny, insane, touching, and action-packed.
Am thankful for the good food we have in the house (grilled chicken, mashed potato, eggplant & ladyfinger salad, seafood chowder, corned beef, and you know I’m sure I left something out.. had a send off for brother last night who is leaving on Wed for Europe. Will miss him dearly.
Finally, am thankful that today I used my time wisely and respectfully. Helped a friend pick out an outfit for interviews at the mall, kept up with a few priorities, relaxed and blogged.

How I did it: I listed all the factors involved such as requirements for the ojt (how many hours, what kind of work, are there required fields?)Defined the ideal. I thought, if I could wave a wand and have any OJT I wanted what would that look like? The answer was this: field work in the province (preferably by the sea ;)) collecting data, having close contact with people. I envisioned myself being quiet, opening up to what the people could teach or sh… Read how I did it…
I had spent a wonderful day with my friend today – visited her after my workout and we had a really nice talk. I wish all the good things for her. I’m grateful for her generous spirit.. she treated me to a Korean meal this afternoon! And that’s another thing I’m thankful for: authentic Korean in Manila.
I’m glad to have found two books I’m eager to read. (and for the extra cash that allowed me to buy them, haha)
I’m thankful for a rigorous workout (light boxing, jogging and yoga), and for a relaxing time in the sauna/steam room at the gym.
I’m grateful for my zany brother who makes me laugh. For my mom who loves us so well (she made phad thai and chicken pandan for dinner!)
I’m happy that things are well with me despite certain circumstances (breakup, foggy start to thesis, a stagnant period for my home business) – in other words, I am thankful for hope and optimism.
by Sufjan Stevens. Because this song could cradle me to sleep. It is cozy and sincere. There is genuine tenderness.. an earnest, and at the end, desperate quality. It tugs the heartstrings!
I’d swim across lake Michigan
I’d sell my shoes
I’d give my body to be back again
In the rest of the room
To be alone with you
To be alone with you
To be alone with you
To be alone with you
You gave your body to the lonely
They took your clothes
You gave up a wife and a family
You gave your goals
To be alone with me
To be alone with me
To be alone with me
You went up on a tree
To be alone with me you went up on the tree
I’ll never know the man who loved me
