So I quit my job on a cruise ship 3 months ago and I’ve been taking some classes, freelancing and looking for a new job since then. Pain in the ass. I’ve had several interviews, but nothing so far. Sometimes I wish I didn’t quit my old job. Then I remember no, I needed to get the hell out of there lol.

I used to work on a cruise ship in Hawaii and I finally started getting time off in Kauai every monday. I went out with my friends several times and learned how to surf in a town called Nawilliwilli. It was AWESOME! I love surfing. I love it so much! Those reefs are sharp and its a little dangerous surfing near them, but totally worth it. I’m so addicted. I want to move back to FL and surf every week!

I saw these stairs when I was coming back from the North Shore with Eddie. He said he’s climbed them and it was awesome. Apparently some people have died on this climb and it makes me want to climb the stairway to heaven even more.

I shot a few, but only finished one that I shot with a friend at the house we rented in college during our huge Halloween party one year. It turned out amazingly well. Use good cameras. 24p looks great. HD if possible.

Living in Hawaii I kind of feel obligated to learn. I mean I was only here on a short term contract basis before and I work 70 hours a week so that was my excuse. But now it looks like I’ll be here permanently and that means by law I have do 2 things – get a new drivers license and learn to surf.

Sometimes I come across people who stop me dead in my tracks. People who challenge me, who make me think I’ve been looking at the world all wrong for a long time. Jessica Joy is one like this and I love her for that. Not in any romantic sense, but just like I want to be around her all the time because I never know when she’s going to say something so wise I’ll never forget it. People like this give me a sense of peace, like someone here knows what’s going on and even if I don’t, it’ll be ok because they say so. People like this help me sleep better at night.

But I have to learn eventually. I’ve lived on my own for a while, but in college there was the cafeteria and in Tampa my roommate cooked and I could afford to eat out all the time, now I’m on a cruise ship and they make my food for me. But eventually I’m going to have my own place and I’ll need to do it. I can microwave like nobody’s business so maybe I’ll just live off hotpockets.

I sort of did this with Jessica Joy a few weeks ago. I rented a car and we drove around Kauai, but that doesn’t REALLY count. Kauai is tiny. You can get from any one point on Kauai to any other in 2 or 3 hours tops and that’s only cause of traffic and windy roads.
We went to the North Shore and to this cave you can go swimming in.

I can’t even count how many times I’ve done this lately, whether its with Greg over a beer and a game of pool or talking with my buddy Adam in his office till 3am, walking around town with Jessica after a concert or friday night bonfires on the beach with the cruise staff. I even used to hang out with this homeless guy named Carl who played his trumpet down at the Baywalk in St. Pete. So many interesting conversations. Very worthwhile.

I was going to cross this off my list. Since I moved out last year I’ve meet so many new people and made more friends than I can keep track of. But this shouldn’t stop. This should be an ongoing goal because you can never have too many people to call your friends.

I went to a place called Kipu Falls on Kauai a couple months ago. The cliffs were only about 25 feet high so I climbed up a tree that was used for a rope swing and that was another 15 or 20 feet. Then I went back to work. Yeah, my job rocks.

I took french all through high school and I could read and write pretty well, just not speak and hear it. Of course I had no reason to use it after high school and now I’ve lost most of it. Sometimes I’ll read through the french instuctions on something I buy to see how much I can remember. I was in Russia a couple years ago and I know lots of Russian speaking people so maybe I should try to pick that up instead.

I’ve jumped off of cliffs, I’ve jumped off of buildings, I’ve jumped off of waterfalls, but never off a bridge. And I definitely prefer to jump, not fall or run my car off.

Last year I moved from Cincinnati to Tampa because I wanted to relocate to a warmer city. Two months later I got a job that took me to Hawaii where I spend most of my time now. I absolutely love it. I can’t believe how many of these things I’ve done in the last year.

I completely forgot this was on my list but now I’ve done it. I’ve been on my first cruise for about 8 months. I work onboard and since I have a great job, its been a blast!

So I quit my very professional job at a law firm and got a job doing video production on a cruise ship. Much better. Its busy but I love it. I’ve also been offered a job at KGMB, the CBS station in Honolulu, so I might be doing the “find a better job” thing AGAIN!

I did this about a year ago. I moved to Tampa with no job, slacked around for a couple months until I got a job in Hawaii. Now I live there. Ironically I’m writing this post while visiting my parents, from the same computer I originally posted about how much I wanted to get out lol.

I love cars, especially the really expensive ones I can’t afford. The only reason I want alot of money is so I can spend it all on cars. I’m not trying to “make up for something”. They just really make me happy. A girl once told me having so many cars was pointless because I can only use one at a time. I asked her how many pairs of shoes she had. She said 37. She didn’t get it.

If I was a millionaire I would use my money to help people around the world with… hahaha, no I wouldn’t. I would buy cars. Actually I help people around the world anyway without money so I’d keep doing that and just have lots of cars. A million dollars isn’t all that much these days so I bet I accomplish this eventually.
