This goal is getting difficult as my other goal is getting accomplished. I’ve lost over 40 pounds in the last year so nearly everything that I’ve bought towards this goal, including some shoes even, no longer fit me. I should add a goal of find a good tailor because now I have a pile of really great clothes and business suits that are ridiculously too big! It’s a great problem to have I realize, but it’s getting expensive.

Just bought a newer used car but after taking it to a mechanic that I trust to have it checked out, I have a list of repairs that I need to have the dealership fix which hopefully will be covered under the warranty. Including fixing the rear-view mirror, replacing front brakes, a crack in the back tail light which might be causing an electrical short and a small oil leak. We’ll see how much they are willing to do for me…
In my little family we’ve been doing this for years and I didn’t even realize it when I added it to the list simply because we don’t write them down. Which I guess is part of the point because if you write them down then you can re-read all the things that are positive in your life but nevertheless… My daughter went through a phase when she was rather young where she thought that it was somehow wrong to have ANY negative emotions so she would suppress them until it started affecting her in other ways, nightmares, health, etc. A therapist explained that we always need to have balance. To focus on the good and positive is essential but we also must understand that we can’t live without experiencing some negative emotions sometimes too. So each day at dinner we go around the table and talk about the most positive thing that happened to each of us and the most negative. It’s helped us to really be able to stay in touch with each other as a family and keep involved in what is happening in each other’s lives.
