It’s too early to begin seriously thinking about running for any federal office, but I am almost certain that I’ll run for a local office in the next ten to fifteen years, depending on where I end up after college.
I am a native of Arizona, and while I truly believe there are many amazing things about this state, I can tell you firsthand – as a product of the education system here, a lifelong resident of the biggest city, and a state university student – that there are so many improvements that could and should be made. It sounds (somewhat naively) idealistic and cliche, but I want to play a role in effecting change here.

I spent a day hiking around Mount Rainier in March 2008, and have never gotten the image of that amazing mountain, and what it would feel like to stand on the summit of it, out of my mind. I have a lot of work to do (physically, mentally, financially) before making it to the top is even realistic, but this is one of my biggest dreams, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I first laid eyes on it.

My brother and I have been planning our dream sibling trip to Las Vegas since we were kids—and as soon as he’s 21 (in February 2012), we’ll be there. He’s one of my best friends in the world, and I can’t think of anyone who would be more fun to hit the Strip with than him.
