This weekend not only do I hope to write my 5-page-paper for Philosophy through Film (demoted from a 10-page-paper Yay!), but to play major catch-up for NaNoWriMo… I’ve kind of accepted that I probably will not “win” this year, my first year, but I WILL try to finish my novel by years end and try to get it published! December is a much more free month for me; November is probably the worst month for writing a novel for a college student!... Still constant vigilence! I will not let that be an excuse…

How I did it: It took me a long while because I stopped reading half-way through... I wasn't enjoying the book that much, but after a month or so of not reading, I picked it up again and read at a leisurely pace. Sitting on my porch I would take long pauses between passages to enjoy nature and just sitting outside. There are some beautiful parts of the book that I enjoyed, the theme is interesting and the characters, but the book deffinately drags for … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I rented the film from a movie rental store (maybe Blockbuster or Hollywood Video), it was late at night, the night before it was due back. Even though it was about 2:00 am, I knew that I wanted to watch it. I put the DVD in the slot and pressed the play button. From then on out I was engrossed in the movie. I was especially sympathetic to the older female character (it was a long time ago, but I think her name is Sarah). I won't ruin the… Read how I did it…
How I did it: If I value life, then how could I reap the benefits of taking away a life? I couldn't.... thus I became a vegetarian. I'm a vegetarian, because I believe it's the right thing to do. I don't think it's praise worthy, I just think it's right, the same way I think it's right not to kill a human being or rape someone, people do not praise others for having not killed someone that day. When I was quite young, I had always felt sort of bad abou… Read how I did it…

I know I want this so much, but I cannot quite figure out what I mean by it, or how I can hope to achieve this.
I think when I chose this goal, I meant that no matter what I do in life I always want to continue to have adventures and explore. As far as adventures and exploring go, I am pretty on top of that in my everyday life…both intellectually and literally. I would just love a career in which I can be an adventurer and explorer! I want to not only have my everyday adventures which I create for myself, but go on big daring adventures around the world! When I lived in Thailand, I always felt as though I was fulfilling this goal, and at home I even find myself exploring every nook and cranny of life there is to explore, but what it boils down to is, perhaps, a fear of a complacency, a fear of having a job which will keep me rooted to routine… I also fear not making a difference in the world… My search for the perfect job is really my search for the perfect life… and no life is perfect. I believe that we only live once, as far as we know, and I want my life to be all that it can be. I am also afriad of becoming distant from my family. I think once I can find a career which quenches my thirst for adventure, allows me to help make a difference in the world, and allows me to still feel close to my family (or be able to see my family fairly regurally) then I will know that I can accomplish this goal and will be able to mark it done, because as the title says: I already am an adventurer and explorer. :)
Well, I forgot to write an entry in the last book/films I borrowed, however I have two more films which I will be leaving little letters in and Happy Birthday, Wanda June as well. Thursday is my birthday and we will be going out to eat twice (yay!), so I will have opportunity to leave little notes on the sugar packets!
REMEMBER MICHELLE REMEMBER!! I must write a note to myself on my hand to remind myself to write notes! I love the irony!
