So I have watched 25 movies so far, only 6 more to go. I am watching American Evil later on tonight but here is the list so far and the do/don’t watch recommendations
Surprisingly good, I did go into this with low expectations (as i do with most horror movies) but it was one of the best movies i’ve watched so far in October. Watch it!
2. The Skeleton Key
I really loved this movie, its a ghost horror so there isn’t any gore but I enjoyed the story line. Watch it!
3. The Suicide Club
OMG, I am so sick of cult classics this was one of the stupidest most disgusting movies I have ever watched it was like a cross between the rocky horror show/some weird torture porn/who knows what the frickin hell is going on. If you enjoy sick/wierd japanese horror then I guess its for you but it wasn’t for me. DO NOT WATCH IT! (p.s. Some japanese horror is amazing just not this one)
4. House of Wax (paris hilton remake, I don’t know the year :P)
This was a rewatch cause me and my friends just looooove watching Paris Hiltons character die. I like it but apparently its not that great of a movie according to all the horror geeks out there. Watch it or don’t, i can’t control what you do.
Ok maybe this would have been better if I hadn’t read the book (which was a fantastic book up until the ending) maybe it would have been better if it wasn’t 3 hours long. I recommend watching it if you have a fear of clowns or if you haven’t read the book.
6. Jeepers Creepers
This movie was alright, I liked it up until you found out what the thing is.
7. Cabin Fever 2
Seriously this was a disgusting movie. Watch the first one because its actually disgusting and funny. The second one lacks the later quality.
Wasn’t much of a horror (somebody told me it was a good horror movie) parts of it were scary but it was more of a psychological thriller. It was good.
9. Dead Snow
WATCH THIS MOVIE hahaha I loved it, it was scary (in parts) funny and sometimes a little silly. who doesn’t like Nazi Zombies.
10. Pet Semetary 2
Don’t watch this movie, it isn’t worth your time. If you haven’t seen the first one then watch that, If you have seen the first one watch it again.
11. Children of the Corn (original)
So I don’t know what was meant to be so amazing about this movie? normally kids scare me but this movie was (to me) pretty boring. Maybe I should have watched the R rated version.
12. The Orphanage
This movie started off a bit eeeeh but I really absolutely loved it by the end. You’ll have to be willing to read subtitles but I think its work it. OMG i loved this movie.
Watch this movie it is the spanish movie that Quarantine was based off of (when I say based, I mean exactly copied except for the reason of the outbreak). I loved Quarantine (apparently it was terrible) but as Eric Cartman would say I DO WHAT I WANT. This was sooo much better then Quarantine, and I loved the story behind the outbreak more in this one than in Quarantine. Once again you will have to be willing to read subtitles (unless you speak Spanish)
14. REC 2
Way way better then the second Quarantine because they actually explain the back story even more in this one. For a sequel it was pretty good.
15. REC 3 Genesis
Give this one a miss, it tried to be to many things and it failed at most of them. aaaaand they changed the style of movie, the first two were shot hand held camera style were as this one wasn’t and it just made it so not good.
16. Land of the Dead
I really enjoyed this. It was one of those kind of terrible zombie movies that you like even though they are terrible.
17. One Missed Call
I really really enjoyed this movie, out of all of them its probably the one that scared me most. I was doing some background on it and apparently it was based off of a Japanese horror (as most of the good ones are) which maybe one day I might get around to watching.
18. War Games
Apart from not being able to understand the main evil guy (and there were no subtitles) this movie was pretty good.
19. Zombies of Mass Destruction
This was just a terrible zombie alright comedy there was a gay couple in it that were f*ing hilarious made the entire movie. So if you want a laugh I’d go for this one.
20. The Dead
I felt more for one of the supporting characters then I did for the main character (in fact i would have been happy if he had died) but I did like that it was kind of a different take on the classic zombies in the USA movie. This one was set in Africa and I think it might have been trying to say to many political things to make it an enjoyable zombie movie (maybe I just don’t enjoy watching people who are already suffering getting attacked by zombies)
21. Survival of the Dead
This one is kind of an offshoot from Diary of the Dead (which was pretty bad) but I did feel more for the characters in this one then I did in Diary of the Dead. Watch it if you want.
It was a pretty good story, but terrible monster design. Give it a watch if you want.
23. The Exorcist (version you’ve never seen before)
Well its a classic, not that scary (except for when she crab crawls down the stairs). I mainly just watched because I thought it was time and I wanted to see the special effects makeup.
24. The Cave
I really liked this movie. There isn’t much to say other then its one of those typical something goes wrong when exploring unexplored places but I liked all the characters.
25. Session 9
This movie was pretty creep and would have been 100000000x better if Horatio from CSI miami wasn’t in it. everytime he was in a scene all I could think about was him putting his sunglasses on. But that was forgivable so watch it if you like having the creeps.
