I’ve already done this – three times in a row, in fact (and I finally made it to 50k last year!) – but I’m doing it again this year, and probably next year and the year after that. This year my sister is participating too, and we’re both determined to beat each other to the finish.
I’m aiming to reach 50k early this year and either keep going and try to make it to 65k or spend the rest of the month writing short stories. Not sure which yet.
Can you tell I’m excited? I’M EXCITED.

How I did it: The only way to make friends is to do things. I didn't start making friends until I started going out and participating in things and thereby putting myself constantly around other human beings. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had mono for 1 year. At the worst I was around 103 pounds - a BMI of 16 or so. I could barely stand for long periods of time, and the ninja skills brought on by being able to slip between a file cabinet and a wall were useless when I was so ill. Not worth it. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Kayaking was much easier than I expected. I rented a kayak (the flat kind, not the whitewater kind) and went out on the river. It was very easy, you just have to get used to it (turning took me a while). The bird watching opportunities are great, since a kayak is so quiet I see herons, osprey, wood ducks, all kinds of beautiful things. I still want to go whitewater kyaking. Another goal for another time... Read how I did it…

Yeah, I’ve been reading pretty much nothing but Discworld lately. I’m in the middle of Men at Arms right now, and then I’ll be reading Unseen Academicals (the new one!) I jump around a lot in the series, if it’s not obvious.
