So, I got another raise. I’m making a bunch of money now. I have a brand new, 2010 car that is amazing on gas mileage and $600 a month payment. But I have several hundred still left over, we’re not buying a house, but we’re in a bigger place, and after December, I’ll have $300 extra on top of the hundreds extra I already have. This goal is now achievable. Only problem is, now that I have the money, I don’t want to save it. I want to enjoy it and live with it. So this goal will be considered complete once we save up to go on our next vacation.

So, I’ve been, though fleetingly in one it still counts, to five states already:
California
Nevada
Arizona (pass through, though I did see the grand canyon so it counts. My feet were on the ground there.)
Oregon
Idaho
Went through Nevada again on my way back from Oregon. All of our trips recently have been spur of the moment. Spent 3 days in Oregon and will definitely go back. Spent one night in Idaho on a whim. That’s 6 down (the one I’m in obviously counts) and only 44 to go. I’m going to take pics of every state that I’ve been to. Will have to go back to the others obviously to get pictures, but also ordered travel guides for all 50 states and planning to start road tripping them next year! The picture attached is from Oregon at the Sea Lion Caves and is me, my mom, and my youngest sister. That trip was amazing!
So, I got a raise and despite my intent to put any extra away, I’m actually spending it. I manage to carry over a couple hundred each paycheck, but my check that I mentioned earlier hasn’t been released yet so I don’t have that counted for. Besides that, I’ve got my new car, we’re getting a house as soon as possible, and I’m starting on my 50 states goal next weekend by hitting two of them. Kind of costly to do that, but worth it in my opinion.
