3 weeks ago, I took a week off to let my shins heal up (I had been ignoring them for a while). The next week I went on vacation and only had 1 run and 1 hike. Then last week, I was catching up from vacation and I felt like I had no time to run. FINALLY, on this BEAUTIFUL evening, instead of just taking my dog out to play, I took him for a run. I took it easy, since I hadn’t run in so long. We ran in intervals and did a little less than three miles. I almost copped out because I couldn’t find anything that I wanted to wear, but I made it out anyway, and it felt great!

How I did it: I fussed and whined and gave in and got online to E-file. I gave up when I got to the part where I needed to find paperwork. Then, I drank a cup of coffee and played a little flash game. Next, I got up, dug through the pile of mail on my desk, and I found my W-2, etc. I ate a mango and sat down to finish filling in my information. I was done in 20 minutes after checking for errors. I really don't know why I ever wait until the last minute. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I didn't have a lot of spare time to finish this. As soon as I got the assignment I started brainstorming for the right topic. After writing down all the ideas I could think of I picked the one that seemed the most fruitful and interesting. Then I made came up with a few alternative outlines, and I picked the one that seemed the most logical. Next, I wrote my paper as quickly as possible, and I made my page limit immediately. The next day… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I waited until my injury was noticeably worse. Then while I was on hold with a department at work, I called my doctor and made an appointment. I managed to snag a great appointment, so I didn't have to miss work or classes, and I could fit in the visit while I was running other errands. I arrived on time, waited ten minutes, and told the doctor all my symptoms. She told me that I sounded like a textbook. She asked more questions, pushed m… Read how I did it…

I was super excited just to hear that someone was hiring in the field of law that I’m interested in. There are two entry level positions, and I meet their prerequisites. I did some research and sent out a resume and cover letter today. I also have a friend working at the office right now, so I feel like that might help me get my resume sifted out of the slush pile.
Today, I got into a discussion that involved the words “ancillary” and “usury.”
We were trying to decide if “ancillary” was appropriate to describe a contract that was made prior to the final contract and that was intended to be incorporated into the final contract. I think our issue was that it is similar to “secondary,” which feels like it should come second in time. However, it also seems like it also means “supportive.” I feel like I need to know more about this word. Times like these, I miss having a subscription to the OED.
As for “usury,” we decided that it sounds very funny, but more importantly that should be preceded by “an” instead of “a.”
