How I did it: It's pretty simple. I thought about him and our relationship. I watched the things he did, the foods he ate, his grunts and his scratches and his smiles. Knowing who he is and what he does definitely helped. The longer you've been together, the more you have to draw from. Try to be deep about it; you don't love someone just because they have blue eyes--you'd love half the world! Think about who he is as a person and what that means to you. Read how I did it…
How I did it: The only hurdle was motivating ourselves to actually do it. Plus it's cold outside, so that didn't help. But we jumped right in...We went through the boxes and threw away outdated/unnecessary items. Then we condensed those items into large plastic tubs. We even wrote down what was inside each tub and taped it to the outside, so we don't need to do a full-on search every time I need something. We swept it out and voila! Organized. So much … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I try to keep it lighthearted yet let him know how grateful I am for his help. We're silly together so it works. Sometimes I ask him in a Donald Duck voice, other times I just say "Hey. You. Come here!" When all is said and done, I am always sure to give him a big squeeze and tell him thank you. If the chore was particularly sucky (like getting the hair out of the tub drain and then scrubbing the entire shower down), afterward I'll r… Read how I did it…

Please don’t bring too many presents to my house this year. I want to establish a Christmas that’s meaningful, not materialistic. Maybe one or two small gifts from hubby, but nothing electronic or expensive. But we’ll keep our tradition of writing and placing letters to one another up in the tree :) I see all my friends obsessing over budgets and shopping lists and Black Friday, and I don’t want any part of that. Please keep my heart simple and pure this Christmas, if you can. All I want is snow, lights on the tree, a yummy meal, and hubby and Piper. Don’t let me get caught up in store ads. Make sure I remember what Christmas is really about, and feel free to remind me if I should be tempted to feel sorry for myself when all my friends get GPS systems and huge televisions, okay? Because as you know, Santa, I need nothing. I want for nothing.
Love,
L
p.s.: I’ll be bringing Piper to meet you sometime this Christmas season. Hubby and I see you in the mall every year, and this year we finally have a little person in our home. She’s dying to meet you. See you in a month or so!
