♥ 43T ♥ 6 hours ago

I just wanted to jump on here really quick, before I go to bed for the night, and thank everyone again. So many 43ers supported me and hubby during that horrendous week of Piper’s birth, and the month she was in the NICU, and have left so many sweet comments since we’ve been home. I get to celebrate her with people who understand and have been here since my “I just took a pregnancy test” post.

And double thanks to those who spent their hard-earned money on a virtual stranger by showering us with real-life gifts. I was folding Piperoni’s clothes and looking around her efficient little room when I realized how much stuff we got as gifts from you guys. Blankets, crib sheets, diapers, bottles, washcloths, wipes, diaper cream, lotions, books, special preemie cushions, hangers, a closet organizer….it’s all made such a huge difference in our daily lives, and I never got to properly thank everyone. I did see your cute little notes on the packing slips, so that really helped :)

So I know I’m late and I’m being general here, but I was just thinking. My daughter’s life is all the better for the wonderful people on this site. Not just the physical gifts, but the overall support as well. Because a supported mama is a happy mama, who is in turn a better mama.

So thank you! :D

Aub's French Bread 11 hours ago

A few weeks ago, my best friend made us some awesome French bread. It was mustardy, bacony, cheesy and crunchy. I got the recipe and hubby and I tried it out tonight.

1/2 c. softened butter (not melted)
5 tsp. mustard
1 c. chopped scallions
8 bacon slices, crumbled
2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1 loaf uncut French bread

Slice bread into 1” slices, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom.
In a bowl, mix butter, mustard, scallions, and bacon to form a thick creamy mash.
Place loaf on long sheet of tinfoil.
Spread butter mix in between each slice. Tuck cheese in between each section.
Wrap tinfoil all around bread.
Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
Serve by unwrapping tinfoil and fully slicing through each section.

It turned out great! YUM.

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I'm grateful. (read all 189 entries…)
Friday 1 day ago

Today I’m grateful for:
1. A pretty sunset from my front door.
2. Hubby’s help with Piper’s two hour crying fit. Our first!
3. Honey mustard. Oh, yum.
4. Overtime hours for the hubs! It will nearly double his paycheck next week.
5. Starting a daily multivitamin. With it, I shall become invincible!
