After 14 years of smoking regularly – quitting and starting and quitting and starting again and again, I’ve finally been able to quit smoking. The last cigarette I had was the morning that my daughter was born. She was born that evening about 8 hours after my last smoke and I haven’t had a drag or anything for over 4 months now.
Very happy I did it, and I had a good reason to do so… The best part is I haven’t even been craving it either.
Good luck to all!
I was able to learn Japanese very well, but lived there for about 19 months. I think learning it without being infused in the culture would be very difficult. I’ve taken Japanese courses upon my return and find they mainly teach very formalized Japanese, and rarely touch on the slightest of “slang” – however the Japanese public speaks “slang” all the time (as we do). With 3 alphabets, reading & writing is a bit of a challenge too, which again comes handy when you’ve got people to ask and show you.
The best tip I can give for learning to read & write Japanese is to partake in Karaoke of Japanese songs…
