I’ve run all my life (5-6 mi about 3-4x a week) and have always wanted to run a marathon. The clock is ticking, though. I need to do it before I get too old or infirm. lol
Any suggestions on where or how to start? I am in good condition, run pretty regularly and would like to shoot for a marathon by next Spring 2007. So far I’ve run in four 10Ks, four 5Ks, and a couple of 8Ks. I average about a 9 minute mile.

I’ve only been in my current role for four months, but my boss is ready to switch jobs. I’m considered her strongest ‘successor’ and it appears that her boss – who’d be a great person to work for – is open to the idea. I really want to assume the mantle – I know I’d be perfect for it. But I have to do a few things in my current job (set up processes and standards, stabilize the infrastructure, share results) to make my prospective new boss comfortable and show that I’ll be able to handle both my new and current jobs (I’ll be managing the person or process I ‘leave behind.’) I have about a month to do this, and I’m anxious!
