I’ve always had a fascination with bellybuttons and stomachs. I DON’T KNOW WHY. But that’s why I’m so attracted to the art. Also, the drumming that typically goes along with it. I’m a drummer, and it’s an incredibly enlightening sound to me. Double score!
But anywayyy.. I’ve tried some of the moves, and I’m actually catching on quite fast. I bought a tribal skirt a few months ago.. now I have a reason to wear it. :D
I have really short hair for a girl, though. I noticed that everyone I’ve seen bellydancing has had long hair. Is this… some sort of coda? Is it unusual to have short hair and do this? IDK. I just noticed that.
Thanks for the comments and support!

I want to learn this, but I’m still pudgy. I’m trying to drop the weight, and I am succeeding. I’m not that over weight, but in order for me to enjoy such a hobby, it is neccessary to do so.
Also, I don’t want my parents to know I’m learning it. Somehow it would be awkward. I want to learn for myself.
I’m also kind of tummy shy. How do you get over that? Not in front of my mirror, but I would have a problem performing for others.
I honestly think it has to do with the dominant side of your brain. I can raise my right brow, and my left just won’t go. People like Robin Williams, who are extra-wacky and creative use more of their right brain, enabling their left eyebrow. But he can do both.
Grr.
And no matter how hard you think about it, it seems impossible!
You know, I’d probably try harder if there was just ONE other person in this group!
