I committed to being an au pair for a German family in rural Switzerland for one year. I lasted only two and a half months and am getting out of here today! I ended up with not such a great family but fortunately I am moving in with a better one in the same village in a month after a long, hard-earned holiday. I can´t wait to start by second abroad job. It will be hard work (I´ll be both an au pair and organiy farm helper) for half as much pay, but what a difference living with nice people will make!
So my plans did change a lot but this has already been the best year ever! Wooo!

And I´m having a blast! I miss home (San Francisco and Berkeley) sometimes, but Europe is amazing. So far I have spent one week staying with family in France, two weeks at French school in Cannes, and two-plus months in rural Switzerland working as an au pair. I HATED that job but still managed to have a great experience. I am leaving today for a month-long trip in Austria, Norway, and Sweden and then I am coming ba´ck to “my” village to work on organic farm. Who knows what other adventures await me!

Are really good places to improve your dancing because everyone is in a very jolly mood… and the cheesy music is fun to dance to. I spent last night at a festival in St. Gallen (Switzerland) dancing with some Swiss army guys ten years my senior, it was fun!
I also recently got a salsa lesson from an Indian guy at a bar in Zürich.
But I´m still not a very good dancer… but now good enough that I can have fun with it!
