Now an ongoing quest!

How are other people doing on learning about virtual communities & social software?? There’s so much out there now, and even more being developed. Are any of us with this goal virtual-community initiators and/or software developers??

Cheers!

Online networking to get all kinds of things done

Facebook & twitter come to mind first. Diigo, delicious, etc. Mint.com for money & budgeting. Flickr.com & others for photos. Peertrainer.com. Ones for trading raw food dishes/recipes. Just got on blip.fm. There’s an explosion. Some networking communities I still want to find.

Reading Natural Home magazine

Came across Natural Home mag. Interesting articles: informative. Like anything, some recommendations are more doable than others. Kind of like one road map among several. Info on using solar, cutting energy bills. Got to read newest issue.

Visit Madagascar
Madagascar ancestors trafficked to the Americas in the Transatlantic slave trade

At least one of our ancestors said she was taken from her home in Madagascar during the slave trade. I would very much like to visit Madagascar.

Find out if Social Networking produces value (read all 2 entries…)
Value's relative, as in many things

I think the best value comes with contact – networking – that combines Net-based with face to face encounters. We’re going to keep exploring these distinctions.

Find some fun activities the boys can do this summer
Kids' summer activities

How old are they? Aside from swimming, why not try riding? Ponies and horses that is. They might also get a kick from organic gardening – watching things grow and enjoying them. Have a good one!

Cross the equator

lose weight
Getting and keeping in balance & in shape

Well, ya gotta get off the computer more often and find some movement – sports, fitness activities – you love. Check with a doctor. You might want to find a legitimate one (not just a pill-pusher) who concentrates on weight loss & control. She or he can help you know your baseline health status and make sure you’re ok to diet and do sports. Do different fitness/movement activities regularly so nothing gets boring and to keep your body/muscles working at top level. Every day drink about 8-10 8-ounce glasses of water. Make sure it’s good, clean water. Nix white flour, white sugar, white rice, and related products. Sorry, but this is basic. Focus instead on eating more whole and organic foods, including whole grains. Watch your portion size and no late night eating. Lots of fresh green salad, raw, steamed, grilled veggies (minus heavy sauces). A bit of fresh fruit goes a long way – not too much since you’re trying to drop poundage. Get friends, a support group, and go out & WALK. RUN. SKIP. USE RESISTANCE BANDS or LIFT WEIGHTS (as all our muscles do need strength training). Workout at home with fitness dvds. Go do sports with friends. Join or even start a recreational sports team or league (wonen’s/men’s) that meets and plays regularly. Be patient, love yourself and have fun.
