I am seeing her twice this week: 27th in Santa Cruz, and 30th in San Francisco. Then I am being taken to her show in Tahoe later in June. I adore her and her voice. I’ve seen her twice before at Rilo concerts. Her songs and voice have changed my life and I want to tell her that. I hope I can give her a big hug if I get to meet her.

How I did it: I found a Kobudo dojo in my town. Kobudo is a Japanese weapons-based martial art. Sai are the first weapon they teach you. After a couple belts they work you into Bo staff, which I love a lot. There is a lot of practice to using sai, and the webbing between my thumbs and forefingers were always sore after class because you flip the sai around the prongs on those webbings. My wrists got strong and it gets easier to flip the sai more smooth… Read how I did it…
How I did it: When I was fifteen and a half I took all the appropriate classes which took 2 weekends. Then I took the permit test, and did all the permit stuff, got my permit, drove safely, then, after 6 months-got my license at 16. The driving test is easy, just don't stress about it. How I did it: With an arsenal of snacks soda and comfy pillows and cushions...and a mild interest in the daily lineup. I just began. It got bad after about 4 in the morning when all the good adult swim stuff left us and all the infomercials came, one after another. Sometimes repeats came in succession. I watched them, but it was definitely better to do because i had a friend with to laugh at the commercials. My friend fell asleep, but I kept watching, … Read how I did it…

My dad and his side of the family all were born in Iran and speak farsi. I would love to learn so I can talk to him and my family in farsi instead of struggling with them in english.
The whole song took about 30 minutes for me, but I have a process to play songs by ear: first, when you find the root note of the chords, you will know what notes to play, all you need to do from there is to know what inversion to play it. The rhythm is easy once you have it. The chorus took a while. Learn the left hand and right hand separately and then put them together-don’t try and do it on the first shot. The rhythm is takes a bit of time, but once you have it you have it.
Good luck!
