1-When it’s raining and i’m cuddled up in bed with a good book. I actually miss our zinc roofs back home cos you could hear every single raindrop hammer down.
2-The smell of clay after the rain
3-Reading an unexpectedly great book. like Saving Francesca or A Separate Peace.
4-Getting a hug when I really really need one
5-Holding my nephew in my arms and hear him laugh
6-Read something so true and relatable it sends shivers down my spine
7- Walking/ biking in the woods, especially when it’s cool and crisp and clean after the rain
8-Sleeping in (but not too much!)
9- Having an unexpectedly deep conversation with someone
10-Going to the thrift store and finding a book i’ve been wanting to buy for like 50 cents!
11-Helping someone out and not feeling like I was taken advantage of.
12-Talking to my people back home
13-Eating something from back home and realizing that it tastes exactly the way you remember!
14-Relaxing after a very productive day
15-Knowing how good I look (it’s the Vain Girl in me lol!)
16-Listening to amazing music that make me shiver with joy, like “Someone like you” and “Then go” and so many Weepies songs

18. Stopping to breathe and catching a glimpse of something beautiful

How I did it: I gambled a Big lot. Used part of my tuition and then worked my ass of all summer to pay it back. Then I went out on Craigslist and got the cheapest car I could fine that looked runnable. it was a cheap quick fix, but it made my summer just that little bit more enjoyable Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had lots of practise over the previous year. i had driven with my brother, with an instructor, but just when i got confident enough, i screwed up, made a completey stupid mistake and felt so inadequate and stupid. Finally, i trusted myself enough to go along and take it a second time. And I made it!! I know i am still not perfect, far from it, but now i can move on, and learn more. Read how I did it…
How I did it: A friend of mine was moving out and gave me her bike (Thanks Hannah), another friend assembled me and took me to a parking lot which slightly slanted down (thanks Jo!) and pushed me down. I took two courses during my sophomore year in college and I loved it. Too bad that I can’t take it as a minor (too much on the courseloads already). I would continue in a heartbeat. But in the meantime, I’ll just keep practising
I got an internship with a local UNA chapter’s model UN program. It’s not anything high scale or intensive, but I’m meeting people who share my interests and gaining some experience working with the non-profit, and being that much closer to fulfilling my dream to work with the UN
