For some reason I have been attracted to the Russian language for so very long! I have taken French and excelled at it, considering my mother was born and raised in Montreal (though, spending many years in the US has made her french a little rusty). French was wonderful, but Russian is just so much more intriguing! Everytime I hear it, it just sounds more and more lovely. It reminds me of a more romantic version of German, though I realize they are not similar.

I heard about this Rosetta Stone application and took a look at it. From what I hear, it is an extremely easy and fun way to learn other languages. Problem is the hefty price tag, which I cannot offord on a college salary. But if I keep saving and keep the faith, maybe someday I will learn Russian and visit the Motherland!

I’ve listened to violin music for as long as I can remember, and I have always loved the sound. I tried playing for about a year, but was so busy that I could not commit fully to learning, so I gave it up. Now, dispite the fact that I am no less busy, I want to pick it back up and give it another try! I am the kind of person that will immediately give up if I am no good, and have quite a bit of discouragement from friends for this very reason. But I have always wanted to be good at something, and maybe this is my chance! I need all the encouragement I can get, and I really need to work hard, but I think it would be so personally rewarding to accomplish a goal I have had for so long.

Now I just need the money to go buy a violin… Thats a whole ‘nother story!
