I feel proud of myself. By focussing on the task that is needed, improving the points of weakness and working towards achievable goals throughout all of first year, I passed with 83% on the final exam for a combined total of 80% for first year :)

How I did it: This is actually one of the first goals I set myself when I joined 43things so many years ago! It took me long enough, which is surprising when I think about it considering that I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with plentiful walking tracks and camping opportunities. Finally, I can say that I have been camping - the high school and intermediate school camp excursions not included! I remember waking up at 6a… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I made this goal on a whim, considering that I didn't expect myself to achieve it or even know much about Chemistry when I began...to realise that I have achieved this goal makes me believe in myself more. Now that I'm doing medicine, I feel like it's the same sort of unfamiliarity and shock. It gives me hope that perhaps if I work hard in the same way, I can achieve my goals of being a competent and excellent doctor at the end of all thi… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I was sick of the city life and living in a 20 sq metre apartment made it feel like I was suffocating amidst the fumes and angry, busy people of the city. I decided with my boyfriend that we didn't need to plan everything beforehand, we hired a car for 4 days and drove out of the city, saw beautiful beaches, rainforests, majestic cliff-hanging mountains, climbed into some 340 million year old crystal caves and ate delicious local food. It… Read how I did it…

I’m finally doing this! Wow..it’s been about…and I’m counting in my head, 5 years since I made this a goal and I’m finally about to do it! One huge difference from five years ago? I’m no longer living in the same country as my parents. And I’m not planning on telling them that I’m going for four days, on a road trip, driving a rental car in another country, with my boyfriend. I have no expectations about this trip, what’s most important for me is that I’ve finally made this step…and it feels so exciting to do it.
Nonsensical latin in title. Must be the blissful state of lack of sleep. I’ve recently received my Masters thesis results and got an A- for my thesis. Feeling happy with that result! Now to wait and see whether it will be enough for an honours. Fingers crossed!
