Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Lose 100 lbs.
Well the first step is admitting it.

I am 100 lbs overweight. Well, I was. I started this journey about two weeks ago with 115 lbs to lose. I now have 93 to lose!! I have lost 22lbs. This is finally happening. I am 29, and for one of the weeks I have had a broken toe. But I am still DOING IT! YOU CAN TOO! I use My fitness Pal. I dance, use 5 lb weights and do little exercises in my apartment that I can pull off. Mostly, ABS ARE BUILT IN THE KITCHEN so I am watching what I eat. Keeping myself from being hungry or overeating.. balancing the day! I hope you can all pull off your goals too. Let’s do this!!!

Here I thought I was making better choices and I ended up spending 50 bucks or only a very tiny amount of things. Soooo expensive. No thanks. 16 bucks for a tiny organic veggie sausage?! Really?

And I know what I want to do now. Work with the deaf. And I taught myself the ASL alphabet yesterday and ordered some books and looked into a few classes. I am so far having trouble only with K, X, G, P, and q, and I think m and n vary in different dialects maybe?! I saw it done with the fingers pointed out and done with them tucked over.

I am leaving Friday morning. I will be headed North. I have a list of goals within my 43 things I call my 30 before 30, because I turned 29 March 13. I am hoping to knock off as many of these that I can on my road trip!!! Where I am gonna end up is a mystery. I am thinking Ct or Boston, maybe Salem wherever the road takes us!! I am borrowing a tent, although I did research a few places along the way- A line dancing bar with a mechanical bull, a winery, a few diners from Drive In’s and Dives tv show!
