Man, I suck at this! I get busy, and when I’m not busy, I’m lazy….grrrr….must try harder. Maybe just a good deep clean this weekend, which isn’t very likely considering the fact that I’m working….we’ll see…

Meanwhile, no point in beating myself up over my Starbucks addiction. I skipped at least 3 days, which is a pretty big start for me. Keeping my apartment organized and trying to get back into cooking has helped, too. By actually keeping up with my apartment, I know what I need before I go shopping and I stick to the list. There is actually food in my fridge. Granted, not everyone would consider milk, eggs, diet soda, and olives food…. Still, I’ve managed to make dinner and lunch at home all week. I’m also still smoking. I guess if I were really serious about quitting I’d have made “Quit Smoking” one of my goals. It’s just too cliche. I’ve been running a great deal more, so I find that the desire to smoke has greatly decreased. I’ll just keep doing that and see where it takes me…..stupid, stupid, stupid addiction. That said, I have managed to cut out almost all drinking. After working so hard at the gym, the last thing I want when I get home are empty calories. Still, I wouldn’t mind a glass of wine with dinner a few nights a week, but I haven’t been buying it. If it’s not here, I don’t miss it. Amazing!! My wine with dinner (and after dinner) habit cost about $40-$50 per week. With that gone, I’ve already noticed an improvement in my bank account. It’s something…not much..but one step at a time, right?
The more I run, the more I really notice how I feel the days I don’t run. I’ll admit, there are some days when I’d really just rather stay home. That said, I slacked all weekend and by Monday night I was ready to go! I ran again last night, too. I decided to take today off, but I’ll be back at it tomorrow night. I was pushing for at least three times per week, but now I’m going for four. Right now, I can. Next month, work is going to pick up tremendously, so I’m already trying to figure out a new schedule that allows me to get a run in early morning. The problem—I’m not a morning person at all! I’m going to have to figure something out, though. Next week, I will run at least 2 mornings. I can not let myself use work as an excuse not to get off my butt and reach my goal.
