be on time for work
So not happening... 4 years ago

GRRRRRRRRR. I really, really try, but I’m just always late. As of July, I will be changing areas, but staying at my current place of employment. I will have to try harder than ever to be on time…don’t want to make a bad impression. Oh…and don’t get me wrong, I stay later to compensate, and all of my work is always finished, but I KNOW it still has to look bad. DAMN!

run a marathon
It's no marathon...but... 4 years ago

I registered for the 8K part of the Marine Corps Marathon (which I hope to run next year). I joked to my friends that 8K is 7.9K farther than I’ve ever run, so I need to get my butt in gear! I’ve been having some foot problems though and have an appointment with a podiatrist soon. I also plan on getting new running sneakers. I’ve been walking fast and furiously, but I’ve only implemented a teeny tiny bit of jogging into the mix. The 8K isn’t until October 30th, so I have one day under 24 weeks to make this happen. I’m scared…but optimistic!

lose weight (read all 3 entries…)
Holding steady... 4 years ago

After losing 32 pounds since March 1st, I feel WONDERFUL! However, it’s been a week since I lost anymore. =( I guess I’m at the point where it gets slower as I build more muscle and lose more fat. So far, my breathing is much better, I can walk for miles without feeling like I’m going to die, a lot of my aches and pains are disappearing, and I feel much better about myself.

I’m obsessed with my pedometer and get over 10,000 steps almost every day. Aside from some bicycling and tons of walking, I haven’t really started any other exercising yet. I plan to begin implementing that soon. I started slow though because I was so unhealthy I probably would have killed myself if I dove right into the tough stuff.

If anyone else reads this and is trying to accomplish what I am, my best advice is to take baby steps and not to get discouraged if you slip up. I know I’ve had some meals that are definitely not part of any diet….I even had a gummy bear overload that made me sick…but then instead of giving up…I did better the next day. Each day is a new opportunity to make yourself a better person. AND…for all of the next weeks, next Monday, next months I used to promise myself I would start dieting and getting healthy, I cannot be more proud of myself for finally listening to the wake up call in my head and getting my butt in gear.

Oh…and I splurged on a new outfit this weekend…

Check out www.torrid.com for some awesome plus size clothes! =)
