I love Japanese culture and would love to learn to speak Japanese fluently one day. Unfortunately, I’m broke so can’t afford to be taught professionally. I’ve gotten hold of the DS game My Japanese Coach – sadly it’s hard to find now as they stopped making it – but it introduces the language bit by bit and includes mini games that help me memorise new words. I’ve also found ispeakjapanese.net and easyjapanese.org to be very helpful. I can now speak some basic sentences and can write hiragana and katakana (with plenty of time) but I’ve still got a long way to go.

How I did it: Generally, I see myself as an optimistic person and so I never even realised how much I worried about everything. One day, I decided to take a step back and forget everything that made me worry. Only then did I realise that I was worrying about nothing! I'm not even entirely sure what I did. I guess I just completely immersed myself in everything that made me happy so that I had no time to cry. I remembered everything that I s… Read how I did it…
I tried learning to drive before I went to uni but it didn’t work out and I forgot about it completely while studying for my degree. Now that I’ve graduated, I decided to start again. I’ve had about 7 or 8 2-hour lessons with my instructor Kryss who is fantastic. He goes at whatever pace he thinks I need and is very, very patient. I paid for 30 hours at once because I can see this taking me a while. I know that my biggest problem is a lack of confidence though. And a lack of spatial awareness… and being too rough on the gas pedal… Oh well, I know I’ll get there in the end! :D
womensweightgain.com has a helpful e-book for sale if you’re willing to pay for it. I’m still at the beginning of my weight gain diet but I’ll keep you posted. :)
