I just recently started reading on a daily basis. My English teacher inspired me to take up reading as a hobby when he said that reading could change your thinking process about all sorts of things in life and perception. The first book I recently read was The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien. It was a fantastic book and the first the novel that I have actually read through front to back, enjoyed, and comprehended the entire plot. I recently just picked up the book Animal Farm by George Orwell and am about halfway through it. I’m enjoying this book even more than The Things They Carried! Animal Farm is a short book and it’s really fun to read. I’ll eventually mark this goal complete when I have read 10 books, preferably American Literature novels. Any suggestions on what I should read next?

My GPA has now just reached an all time low of 2.0. I can’t believe this, it is the beginning of the last marking period of my junior year and i have a 2.0. I failed THREE classes last marking period. I know I can do better in school, I just have to do my work and pay attention. I started to slack a lot once I got in to middle school and got in a bad habit of it; not doing work, dozing off in class when supposed to be paying attention, etc. I’m just going to have to cut the laziness out, quit with the partying, and get back on track. Figuratively and literally, I’ve been declared ineligible for my grades and have been kicked off the track team..this has to be reversed. We’ll see how I stick to my goal when final report cards come back.
