I published a novel instead.
One of those short stories became a full novel, which was taken on by a publisher and released last November. The book is Ask Me if I’m Happy. I’m very proud of it.

When I wrote this, I had just found out that my sister-in-law was pregnant. Somehow, I had thought that she would never do that. She’d always indicated zero interest in the idea, and it seemed that, if anyone was going to further the family line, so to speak, it would fall to my husband and me.
Big shocker!
Now, I’m relaxed and happy about her good fortune. It took me a while to come to terms with it, but I have done so. I met my beautiful niece just last week, and I couldn’t be happier for her family. She’s beautiful, and they’re beautiful with her. What more could I ask of this world?
If it happens for me, then it was meant to be. But, I’m not seeking it out. I am happy with my life, truly; it’s taken me a long time to get to this point, too.
It was totally worth it.
I didn’t gain, either. I’ll take that.
I spent the whole summer in the States, but I didn’t overdo it at all, which is a surprise to me. However, I unfortunately didn’t get to exercise as much as I’d hoped I would.
I took “Slimquick” pills the whole time I was there, and I have to say that they really do seem to work. Even though I misbehaved while eating from time to time, I didn’t gain any substantial amounts of weight. Good deal!
Now, I’m back in Italy. I don’t eat much, and I’ll start my “exercise routine” again this week. Once I’m back to work, I’ll get toned and ready for the world once more.
Wish me luck!
