100 Reasons to Love Myself (read all 9 entries…)
Going to win this race...

48. I am a pianist.

Ok, I know I wrote about being a musician…. that’s just in general. I love that I’m musical. However, this is a more specific thing.

I love that I can play piano. I’m by no means a performance-level pianist. Although, I think I could probably reach a high level of proficiency if I put the time and dedication into it. Still, I love sitting down and just playing piano. AND – when I actually DO practice, I get pretty good. I love that I can do that. I am proud of myself for getting my Grade 10 RCM, and I love the fact that, even though I wanted (many, many times!) to quit piano, I didn’t. I learned about perseverance and hard work from all my years of piano lessons. Plus, I have an outlet for creativity, which I love!

48. I can play the flute.

A few years ago, I wanted to learn how to play the flute. So, I went onto Craig’s List and bought a cheap flute for $75. I taught myself the basics, and got a few lessons from a friend. The surprising thing was that, when playing flute, I’m actually pretty good at playing by ear – not something that I was ever that good at on the piano. Playing the flute represents my ability to learn new things :)

49. I can play the guitar.

Again – not the world’s best guitar player. I know enough to accompany my kids at school, and I can play a bit for enjoyment. Thinking about this item, I realized something important: I suck at guitar. I am not perfect when it comes to guitar. For a perfectionist, this is a pretty major realization. I do not have to be perfect to enjoy something.

50. I can sing.

I promise – this is my last music one for now! lol I have no desire to be on American Idol, and I have never – not even once! – sang Karaoke. I do sing 6 hours a day at work, and I know I’ve got decent pitch. I love that I have good pitch – it’s not easily taught. When I took singing lessons, I had a fairly substantial range, too, which was cool. I love singing in the shower and in the car. It’s fun, and I sing without fear.

51. I am curvy!!

I love my curves. I am sexy and voluptuous, and well-proportioned. I have a great figure with a waist and hips and curves in all the right places, and when I wear clothes that accentuate my curves, I feel amazing. Love it!!!!

52. I’m fun to be with.

Ok, I don’t know exactly how true this is… but when I hang out with people, they seem at ease and they laugh a lot. I think I’m fun to be with :) I think I’m fun! And I like that :)

53. One word: breasts.

Yup. I got ‘em and I love ‘em. I was blessed enough to be able to nurse all three of my children for at least a year, and it amazes me that I was able to nurture my kids like that. (All three of them have really strong immune systems, rarely get sick, and I’d like to think my nursing them had something to do with it. Plus, I love my cleavage. And, I got to admit it: I kinda like using the ‘girls’ to get a guy’s attention ;) .... plus a whole bunch of other, more intimate reasons for loving them.
