I’ve lost 35 pounds now—it’s been 12 weeks. I originally wanted to lose 126 pounds (half my weight) so I still have a ways to go, but I’m off to a great start. I’ve been doing Weight Watchers online, and until a few days ago, I wasn’t exercising yet. I just started the Couch to 5k program (for the second time… I did it back in 2007 and made it through week 8).

How I did it: I've wanted to do this for about 12 years, ever since I learned to knit. I've started dozens of afghans, but always get bored halfway through and never finish. I picked a pattern that was made up of squares that had to be sewn together when done. It's called a "Circles to Squares Afghan". I chose colors that I love (red, yellow, and green) so that I'd be interested enough to finish it. Then I just crocheted and crocheted and crochet… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I got really sick of looking at my faded shutters, so I went to Lowe's and bought some outdoor spray paint (to make it easy on me!) Taking the shutters off the house was simple, just a few screws. I layed a tarp on the driveway, and put the shutters on that. Then I spray painted the shutters a deep red color and they were dry almost instantly. Hung them back up, and the whole process took less than an hour or so :) Read how I did it…
How I did it: My dad spent a year in Iraq, and when he got home, he bought a new boat. I asked if we could go fishing on it and he said sure. We had to buy a fishing license for myself, and he paid for that. My dad is an expert fisherman, so he knew all the right spots on the lake to go.We caught some perch, which we like to eat. And for fun, he took us to a spot to catch silver bass--he said those are fun to catch because they put up a big fight :)&nb… Read how I did it…

It’s been 46 days now since I last binged. I’ve been losing weight (21 pounds) and I feel a lot better now that I’m not bingeing. I discovered the key for me is to not let myself get really really hungry. When I go a long time without eating, I notice I want to binge. I’ve been eating larger meals and only one snack a day, and that helps a lot.
I finally decided to start working on this goal (seriously) on August 19th. It’s been a little over 6 weeks now, and I’ve lost 21 pounds. I’m doing Weight Watcher’s points system (on my own, no meetings). No exercise yet. 105 more pounds to go!
