Well, the next novel I’m reading will be in French (Camus’s L’Étranger). I read like three pages the other day and it was the most I’ve practiced in, like, over a year. It’s pathetic! :P

I’m kind of reconsidering this goal. See, reading one novel a week would be amazing, but that’s clearly impossible; so when I say “one book a week”, I mean all kinds of books. But the truth is, I probably read about a book’s worth a week—maybe a little less, but not much. So just because I don’t read a book cover-to-cover every week, that doesn’t mean I’m not reading a lot. And maybe it’s silly to want to read books cover-to-cover, because, well, that’s often not the best way to read them! So I might be giving up on this. Doing some thinking… :)
The Open Minds Project seems great, and Thailand sounds like an amazing place to get to know—Thai food and Buddhism together, right? :) The fees in this project are particularly cheap, they really sound like they know what they’re doing, and it’s appeared in a list of recommended volunteering programs (or something like that) by CNN. It has to wait till I finish grad school, but it’s something to look forward to! :) Oh, also: 33% off for couples; think I could get my boyfriend to come with? :)
