build a big, adult-sized Lite Brite
Untitled 7 months ago

My sister-in-law gave me a regular Lite Brite last year for Christmas… during thoughts of opening a sugar-free bakery, when I pictured the bakery in my head, I always had large, 24”x36” inch Lite Brite pictures on the walls. There are instructions on the internet (Google: Giant Lite Brite ) but they seem unwieldy and expensive. I keep seeing air-conditioning grates that might be a good board, and in that Google link are some sources for acrylic rods; another “poor man’s Lite Brite” suggested using hollow tubing lined/stuffed with different color tissue paper. I don’t know, I just know I need one that’s bigger and can allow for many colors… my first masterpiece will be van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” since I couldn’t manage to create it in flowers on my 2000-sqft hill.

Wish me luck!

jettison "the baggage" once and for all! (read all 2 entries…)
3 years later... 10 months ago

Well, that loving, amazing boyfriend is now my husband of 2⅓ years, I’m so lucky! I still have moments of “baggage-ness,” but they’re fewer and further between. The best part is that I can tell my husband about it and he never ever judges me, and only got irritated once. :-)

Play music again
Back to what I know... 10 months ago

I have a degree in Music Ed/Flute & Piccolo, and got away from it for a number of different reasons. Now I work at a food bank, which is very stressful and not often creative or expressive. I got my flute out last night and, while I’m rusty, it wasn’t a complete disaster. There are a couple of groups in town that I’ll check out once I have my chops back… see what happens!
