learn to crochet
Crochet is fun! 3 years ago

I enjoy crochet. I think it’s neat to take a simple strand of yarn (or even strips of plasic bags looped together) and turn into something special. I started learning about 2 years ago when I got an instruction book, a couple hooks and a gift card for yarn for my birthday. I’ve made scarves, pot holderd, coasters, pet beds, hair scrunchies, and am working on an afgahn with regular yarns. I am working on a barbie doll dress in thread. I also make bags out of recycled plastic shopping bags. I’ve even sold 3 of them!

Learn to speak Spanish
Learning to speak Spanish would be helpful in my carreer and in my day to day activities. 3 years ago

Living in Dallas, TX there are a lot of Spanish speaking people that I need to be able to communicate with. I’d also like to go to Mexico on vacation and I think I would find the experience more enjoyable if I could speak the language of the region. I’m thinking about picking up a computer program or a book at halfprice books soon so I can start on this goal.

become debt free
The biggest hurdle: 3 years ago

2 Capital One credit cards. I got the first one to try and help build my credit. I never should have gotten the second. Now they are both in collections. I need to pay them off. They had very low limits so it’s not a ton of money. I need to call them and set up payment plans, but I’m afraid that as soon as I do that something will happen and I won’t be able to stick to the payment plan.

learn to belly dance
I'm by no means an expert, but Bellydancing is a lot of fun. 3 years ago

I took classes and was even in a troop for a while. It’s been a couple years and I think I have forgotten a lot too, but the dance is a lot of fun. It makes me feel very feminine and in control of my body.

Eat a veggie burger
I'm not a vegitarian and I love veggie burgers. 3 years ago

Actually I don’t eat as much healthy food as I should, so this is one of those foods that’s good for me that I’ll actually eat and enjoy. The Boca brand veggie burgers are my favorite. They are very low in fat, have soy protien and with a slice of 2% american cheese on a low fat bun with some spicy mustard these are delicious.

Have my wisdom teeth taken out
I'm a mutant. 3 years ago

Normal people have 4 wisdom teeth. I had 6. I had mine taken out when I was 18. They knocked me out and the healing process was quicker than I thought it would be.

get another tattoo
My next tattoo? 3 years ago

The problem is, I have to figure out what to get. I think I would like another cat tatoo on the back of my right sholder. Just not sure what. I like Hello Kitty but don’t know that I want a tattoo of her. I love the Chinese lucky cat (the one with one raised paw), but I still haven’t found a drawing or picture that I think would translate well into a tattoo.

Any ideas?

learn how to tie the stem of a maraschino cherry with my tongue

eat clam chowder in sourdough bread

It’s been over 10 years, but that is still one of my favorite foods and favorite places!

Quit Smoking
How I quit smoking. 3 years ago

This was actually much harder than I thought it would be. Here’s what I did that helped me quit.

1. slowed down slowly – I counted how many cigs I smoked in a day on average, then took one away every week.

2. smell that smell – One of the reasons I wanted to quit is because everything I owned smelled like old cigs. So whenever I finished a cig I would smell my hands and remind myself how much I dislike stale cig smell.

3. busy bee – I used to smoke when I was bored. In order to stop that I made hemp necklaces and beaded stuff. It kept my hands busy and helped my think of the pattern I was working on rather then my next smoke.

4. count the money – When I smoked, my brand was $2.50 a box on sale. I couldn’t afford my habit, so I wanted to quit. I took the $ I would have spent on cigs and went to lunch twice a week, I even bought a new shirt at the end of the month with the $ I saved.
