Well I really understand the point of recovery week now. I’m doing p90x classic. I got sick so I had to take a breather for a couple extra days at the end of my recovery week. I’m on phase 2 now and I’m happy with how my cardio strength and overall athleticism has increased. I was nearly able to keep up jump for jump with the folks on the DVD on Plyometrics today.
Though I have to contest this theory of “muscle confusion” that they’re claiming. The only difference between phase 1 and phase 2 is that you do Chest, Shoulders, Triceps instead of Chest and Back; and you do Back and Biceps instead of Shoulders and Arms. Everything else is exactly the same. Whatever, I just want to get through this and feel confident at the beach.

Okay, it’s been over a year since I cast out p90x in frustration, but my back is a helluva lot better since last time I tried, and come to find out it was actually my JOB causing me the back problems, not P90X. I’ve got a easy-going job now and I’ve decided to get back in there. I’m on week 3 now, though I think I might be sick…I did chest and back yesterday morning, and I felt really sick before I could finish..maybe the Powerbar was bad, I don’t know. I didn’t feel too great today either so I just rested up today and I’m picking up tomorrow.
I’ve already gotten results, my belly is a lot slimmer and I’m sporting a sweet 4-pack abs, hahaha.
Also, I’m becoming a tad narcissistic, but I guess that’s better than self loathing and sucking in a gut. I just use the excuse that I’m getting used to my new arms so I have to look at them a lot.

I’ve taken time off this goal to pursue writing, miniature painting, and exercise, but I’m ready for it again. I got some input from a friend of mine who in my opinion is an amazingly talented artist on my works thus far, and I’m ready to start again.

My belly is FLAT!
No 6 pack yet so I gotta get them muscles workin’ harder.
I have some tips that were VERY helpful for me, also my routine that’s given me the fastest best results:
1. From Men’s Health magazine(May 08 issue(I highly recommend this issue for this goal)): drink 16 oz. of water first thing when you wake up in the morning, it increases your metabolism by 24% for 90 minutes(strangely drinking less that 16oz didn’t do anything).
2. Exercise after drinking water^^, then have a sensible breakfast, such as a protein shake with fruit or oatmeal with fruit.
3. Also from MH: keep a cooler full of healthy abs-friendly snacks with you at all times. only eat from the cooler throughout your work day.
4. Get a SmartVest! http://www.smartvest.net You’ll be amazed.
5. Don’t wail on your abs everyday. Work out 3-4 times a week, cardio and full-body strength training. Your body isn’t able to isolate any area to burn fat from, it just takes it from everywhere all at once.(i.e. situps/crunches/etc don’t necessarily burn fat off your stomach any more than bench presses or plyometrics)
6.Supplement your essential amino acids! I take a 500mg L-Lysine 1-2 times a day, and it’s supported my muscle growth unlike anything I’ve ever taken.
7. Drink milk!! Speaking of essential amino acids, did you know that milk contains all 8 of your essential amino acids? So drink up! Non-fat organic preferably.
8. Face the reality of it: a 6-pack achievement is a long, slow, annoying, difficult process that takes commitment and dedication to your health as well as a disciplined diet to achieve.
9. Don’t buy into gimmicks. Any of them. Gain facts from objective sources and get to know your body. It realistically can be achieved through at-home workouts and smart trips to the grocery store.

lol @ myself.
Just a few days to do 70 somethin pages..naw. I did however participate and I gained something from it. I just have no desire to write out a full on 100 page script anymore, I may change it to a comic later on.

Well…I could say “man I ain’t gonna make it” or I could spend all my free time until the end of the month polishing off those final 80 pages.
Decisions, decisions.

I highly recommend using Celtx, I don’t think I’d have it in me to do it in Microsoft Word. Just playing with the program and formatting tonight to learn some things, gonna start tearing into it tomorrow.

How’s it coming along?
I think I’m getting there. I haven’t quite established a full on tap into my creative well, but I’ve surely broken the ground.
I’ve been playing pen and paper role playing games, creating characters and personalities, gotten back into drawing, poetry, and now I’m doing Script Frenzy, and I’ve already got a nice story line to go with it.
I think a part of gaining creativity is dropping some logic. I often would try to generate creative ideas only to bring them down with logic or negative self-talk like “that doesn’t make sense”, “no one will like this”, but other times it would be like staring into a void. It would even eat away at my ability to interact with others, wit and humor would fail in the face of hard realism and logic. Instead of conversing, my mind would go “there’s nothing to say here”.
So, embrace the moment, shake off constraints, don’t try super hard to make creativeness, just let it flow out of you like a gentle stream of urine.
Haha…
At any rate, this goal needs to catch on with more people, eh?

We’re all lazy fucks then aren’t we?
I hung up my heavy bag. I’ve been workin’ it. My knuckles are bashed to shit(callouses are gone). Well, it feels good to land a solid roundhouse kick anyways(without the pain of actually hitting someone with it).

So the story itself is meant to be applied to a video game rpg…but for now just for SF I’m going to keep it simple in movie or stageplay format. I’m not sure which yet though they are similar. I’m already behind, been working so much. I’ve got some characters fleshed out so now I’ve got to get writing…I blazed through Nano in two weeks on a whim, I can work this out.

Damn you Arby’s!!
Well despite a minor setback I’m still making progress.
I’ve realized that for me it’s less losing fat and more gaining muscle mass to get my six pack.

I forget how I discovered Nano, but I was a winner in ‘07…I’ve never even attempted a script before, but I remember how much fun I had doing my novel that I’m going to give this a go. I’ve always wanted to write an RPG script…here’s my chance.

No back problems no excuses. I’ve been on this for a few weeks now and I’ve been progressing nicely. My diet was VERY poor today, probably why I’m here posting, in reflection of my faltering willpower. Besides that I haven’t touched fast food or junk food in 2 weeks, that includes soda pop. I’ve downed at least 3 servings each of fruits and veggies a day, whole wheat and turkey sandwiches, L-lysine(essential amino acid) pills, water, protein drinks and vitamins. Every other day I get on the treadmill for at least 35 minutes and do an ab workout immediately afterwards.
That’s it. I’m almost there! Girls will dampen when they seem me topless, dammit!

Drawing is so much fun! I’ve progressed slightly in the past weeks or has it just been days? Behold.
I started playing D&D for the first time ever recently…here’s an elf for ya. Not your conventional pretty boy elf, either.
