I was at my local college and our tutor invited us to go and tour the animal centre on campus. In the exotic animal’s room my friend’s and i picked up snakes and various spider’s. At the very end someone asked if we could touch the tarrantula. The professor explained that we would have to wear protective gloves and goggles because as a defense mechanism, the spider might shoot spikes, which they tear from their bodies, at our eye’s. The room emptied out faster than i have ever seen that particular group of people move. The tension in the room was palpable as we each took a turn holding it. The whole experience was exhilerating, slightly scary but worth it.
