My father is Flemish, but he never taught me anything! I want to be completely fluent in this language…possibly by the time I leave college?

My mother is from England, and we visit about once a year.
My father is from Belgium, and we visit once every few years.
I feel like I need to AT LEAST spend a few months in the bedroom of a cousin and see what it’s like to live more than a few weeks in Europe.
Language barriers scare me, though.
