...fourth one this summer. They are amazing and life changing. Retreats and conference centers are great for Christianity and everything, but nothing spells growing closer to God than actually being LIKE him and serving. I mean, really, we Christians spend so much time telling other people what they’re doing wrong (I’m guilty of it too!) and we never spend time loving on them like Jesus did.
...Won a couple. Still need to apply for more, though. Do a lot of little ones (1000, 500 bucks) because you’re more likely to get them and they aren’t as much work. The bigger ones are a bigger gamble. And the little ones – when you get them not only help (every little bit helps) but it’s really exciting and a big self esteem booster.
I went there for a conference and didn’t get to see many sites, but it definately was amazing. I’d love to go back for a few weeks and try to become a “local.”
I’m going there on a mission trip this summer, which should be good too. There are a lot of homeless people there.
