Becoming vegan
Becoming a Vegan.. 5 months ago

..it’s been 4 days now and we’re still using a couple of dairy items which are sitting in our fridge (you don’t wanna throw perfectly in-date things away). But we haven’t touched any meat or fish and I can say that I feel great. It will take time to get used to it and to learn the whole new routine but I am determined (although I have this loud voice in my head trying to tell me that what I’m doing is a waste of time blah and who cares. Well I do so shut up.)

Will report back.

learn german
Hm 19 months ago

Being German..it wasn’t that difficult ;) (but I’m still rubbish when it comes to grammar..I just know what to say and how because I’ve done so for the past 26 years or so..)

Buy a house (with a garden for growing vegetables)
Oh yeah 19 months ago

A little house with LOTS of character (;p) and a little garden in the back with wild growing grass, wild growing flowers, a tree and a little veg patch. sigh

stop eating junk
Oh geez 19 months ago

Another one of those things that everyone tries but gives up after a while? Not me! :D

Thanks to a great book (“Skinny Bitch” – thanks to Victoria Beckham for reading it while being photographed ;) ) I discovered the evils of food and decided enough is enough and stopped eating shite food. The occasional temptation is there (A bit of Dr. Pepper every other month …) but I’m doing good. Another book I bought that changed my life: “What’s REALLY in your basket???”

:)

ha 21 months ago

still doing it (not joining..more going there)...
We’re now doing Monday and Thursday and I am seriously lacking motivation but buying new gym clothes and fancy body lotion and all that makes me wanna go there to use it :p (Sometimes you just have to do the mind-tricks)

Feeling good (could be loooads better).

eat less sweets (read all 3 entries…)
So this is my update 21 months ago

I’m currently trying not to eat sweets at work, the place where I eat most sweet stuff. It’s difficult but so far I’m doing good (it’s my first week)

sigh

eat less sweets (read all 3 entries…)
Seriously... 23 months ago

...I eat way too many sweet things all day. Even if in my head I KNOW and tell myself not to, my hand just grabs the next bit of chocolate (mostly) and puts it in my mouth. Phew.

I WANT TO eat healthily (is that even a word? Looks weird) and do all the good things (foodwise) to my body that seem to come sooooo easily to all those stars (look at their diets..HOW are they doing that!!!! O_O) but I have zero discipline..it’s ridiculous.

Sigh

Happy.

find a job (read all 3 entries…)
Oh meeeeh 2 years ago

I’m not doing very good on this one. sigh My main problem is probably that I don’t know what I want to do. Every job I’ve looked at so far I can’t imagine doing. I either feel bored or annoyed just thinking about it.

How do you know what you really want to do?

I like to think that my CV is good. I know I could probably do better but how?

I need help. :(

mosh at a concert
Done it twice or 3 times.. 2 years ago

..can’t really remember but it was so much fun. First time was at a Beastie Boys concert in Cologne in 1999. I coudln’t walk for the a week but it was worth it. People were sweaty and I constantly grabbed someone’s wet T-Shirt but hey, who cares!

Second time was at a Libertines concert in Berlin in 2004. The best concert ever!!! I had to have a break cos I was about to collapse or something. Need.water.

Not sure about that third time but if I did then it was at a festival in Weeze, Bizarre, in 2000. I only went on the Saturday not the whole 3 days but it was awesome (apart from the toilets and showers etc urgh)..

Go to a Radiohead concert
So worth it! 2 years ago

I went to see them in 2003 in Germany and Holland. First concert was Oberhausen (10 Nov) then Berlin (13 Nov) then Hamburg (15 Nov) and then Arnhem/ Holland (19 Nov). It was awesome. Ed o’Brien even waved at me and my then-friend. :D <3

We went there early and apart from Oberhausen (2nd row) we got into the 1st row which was great! drool ;)

Also, Asian Dub Foundation were GREAT!!!!

live in germany
Meeeh 2 years ago

Lived in Germany until the age of 24. My family moved around quite alot (mostly within the same town O_o) and I did as well. I lived in Weisswasser, Aachen, Jork and Berlin.
I dunno why I don’t like Germany but I guess it has to do with the people: whining, complaining (yeah so do I), etcetc.
I do like the culture, landscape and cities (Berlin, Dresden <3)...but I'm glad I now live where I always wanted to live.

google myself

Just did it…just results that have nothing to do with me. They’re about childrens’ books. Anyway, I prefer to google my nickname. :D

improve my spoken english
It is a mix of let's say talent and will-power 2 years ago

Ever since I heard my first English word I’ve been in love with this language and I did everything possible to improve my written and spoken skills. I read books, watched films, listened to a lot of music, talked to people from America, Australia and of course GB…oh and my boyfriend’s from London which helps alot! At the beginning of our relationship I wasn’t able to say a single sentence without thinking it over and over again until it was a) too late to say it or b) sounding so wrong I couldn’t bring myself to say it.
But after a few weeks this problem just disappeared. I do make some mistakes every now and then..mostly grammar (past tense etc rolleyes) All I can say is: TALK! ‘Learning by Doing’ is one of the truest things ever.
You’ll now when you’re close when eg. Brits look at you in surprise cos you just told them you’re from Germany (or you know..) ;) “Your English is excellent! I didn’t know you’re from xy!”

And I love it!

watch all scrubs episodes
We've done it! 2 years ago

We watched all the episodes we can possibly watch. So that’s Season 1 – 4. It’s hilarious, lovely and sad. Someone said it even has life lessons, that’s so true! You just have to love JD don’t you? Ohhh and Perry!! :D
Can’t wait for the next Season…

join the gym (read all 2 entries…)
Finally 2 years ago

I started going to the gym 2 1/2 weeks ago. I go 3 times a week. I love it. One of the guys there wrote a program for me. 30 minutes cardio, 30 minutes weights. One of the first goals was to make the 2000m in 10 minutes on the rower, made it the third time I tried. Feels great!
I can already feel results: I’m not totally exhausted walking fast and I can’t wait for the day that I actually see results.

find a job (read all 3 entries…)
Hope, anyone? 2 years ago

Alright so I came to London to live here and work..the only thing working so far is living. I wouldn’t say I’m trying hard to find a job which means: I’m not sending 60 application forms out every day but I do try. So far nothing but temp jobs (1-2 weeks) or silence. Apart from not knowing WHAT exactly to do…is this ever going to change? sigh
